Faucet repair in Alhambra
Faucets in Alhambra kitchens and baths fight a constant battle with minerals. If yours drips, sticks or sputters, text a photo to (310) 628-9399.
How hard water ruins a faucet
At a typical 240 ppm (city report), minerals settle on every surface the water touches. Inside a cartridge, that grit scores the seals each time the handle moves.
First the handle stiffens. Then the drip starts. Swapping the cartridge, or the stem and washer on older two-handle sets, usually fixes both.
What we bring and do
We close the shutoffs, pull the handle and cartridge, and match the part to the faucet maker. Scale on the housing gets cleaned off so the new part seats properly.
Many Alhambra houses date from before 1980, so we also look at the shutoffs, which are often stiff stem valves.
A sputtering stream
Unscrew the aerator and look inside. If it is packed with white bits, a new aerator often fixes the stream on the spot.
If a faucet is cracked or corroded past repair, we quote a replacement for the existing holes.

Why does my faucet drip again after a year?
Hard water wears new seals too. Cleaning aerators and running handles fully open and closed now and then helps.
